Rural Development Projects Worth RS10 Billion to be Launched in Islamabad

CDA has decided to introduce some mega-rural development projects in Islamabad. Around 17 projects of about RS2.8 billion have already been put out to tender by engineering wings. In a bid to expand its scope of operations, for the first time in history, CDA will be undertaking the development work in union councils of all constituencies of Islamabad.

According to the available reports, several rehabilitation and upgradation projects will be carried out by CDA, such as the rehabilitation and upgradation of  Shah Allah Ditta Road, main Golra Road and Sarai Kharboza Road along with Simly Dam Road, and Jandghand Road.

CDA director work discussed the development project, “We took ICT’s local department on board for these projects; they helped us and identified the areas, towns, and roads. We then prepared PC-I, and now our advertisement will be published for calling tenders,” He also said, “Besides roads, streets work is also included, and soon another tender will be called in the second phase.”

Notably, CDA used to develop projects in urban areas of the city, and this is the first time it has decided to expand the outreach of development projects to Union Councils. In his meeting in February this year, the incumbent Prime Minister gave the green signal to the body to carry out mega-development projects.

All 17 projects will be completed in a time frame of mere three months. Sardar Mehtab states that CDA works for the development of the capital region, and it does that without any political affiliation because its sole purpose is to impact people's lives positively.

As the population of the twin cities is growing and urbanization is intensifying, the timely completion of these development projects is imperative. The upgradation and construction of roads improve mobility, reduce commuting time and ameliorate overall connectivity.

In Short.

CDA has decided to unleash rural development projects worth billions of rupees. Tender work for 17 projects has been initiated, and it is hoped that these projects will be finished within the prescribed time. The incumbent Prime Minister has also directed the authority to complete these projects. So, these projects will be in use soon.
